St. James Town
St. James Town is considered as
the most densely populated neighbourhood featuring eighteen high-rise apartment
buildings with almost seven thousand units in an area of 32.1 acres. In 1997, a
community action plan to revitalize St. James Town was approved that aims to
improve parks and the maintenance of St. James Town buildings.
A good amount of day-to-day
stores exists within the St. James Town neighbourhood. Grocery stores, drug
stores, banks, restaurants and clothing stores are located on the main streets
namely, Wellesley Street, Sherbourne Street and Parliament Street.
All major streets have bus
service running in St. James Town. A short walk will get you to the Sherbourne
subway station. Motorists enjoy the ease of access as they are minutes away
from the Don Valley Parkway on ramps off Bloor Street.
