Forest Hill is known as one of Toronto's most prestigious districts. Two of Canada's most revered private schools are located here - Upper Canada College (UCC) for boys and Bishop Strachan School (BSS) for girls.Back in 1920s and 1930s, Forest Hill's old building codes mandate that all Forest Hill houses be designed by an architect and at the front of each property, a tree be planted. Because of this, most would agree that Forest Hill is one of Toronto's prettier district, with brick and stone mansions and majestic trees lining the streets of Lower Forest Hill. Upper Village houses were mostly built in the 1940s and 1950s. These houses are more modest compared to Lower Village but lot sizes are comparable between the two districts. In addition to magnificent mansions, Forest Hill also contains a number of luxury condo apartment buildings. Shopping district centered around the intersection of Spadina Road and Lonsdale Road. The Village's boutiques and shops cater to the affluent residents of this neighbourhood. There is also the Eglinton West Village will houses a variety of stores that suits all budget and taste.
