Named after Queen Alexandra, this neighbourhood has a lot of
history behind it and considered as the first home to many new Canadians in the
1920’s. Alexandra Park has a mix of old and new as it consists of private
residences and a cooperative that provides partially subsidized housing. These
setups complement each other in this small neighbourhood.
Considered as Toronto’s largest food market, the Kensington
Market is within walking distance from Alexandra Park. Chinatown is also
accessible at the intersection of Dundas Street West and Spadina Avenue. It
provides a fresh selection of goods, vegetables and restaurants from the Far
Access from and to the city is easy as the Gardiner
Expressway and Lake Shore Boulevard are just minutes away. Additionally,
streetcar service is available on all major streets that are linked to
Toronto’s subway lines.
